Fascia or Fascia Boards cap the end of rafters on the outside of a building. This can then be used to hold the rainwater guttering. The finished surface below the fascia board and rafters is called the soffit.

Soffits refer to the material forming a celling from the top section of an exterior wall to the outer edge of the roofline (fascia). Soffits can vary in size from a few centimetres to 3 or more feet, dependant on requirements.

Cladding is the application of a covering material over another, providing a layer intended to protect the underlying material from the elements.  Cladding is also applied for its aesthetics and provides an excellent low maintenance alternative to timber.

A rain gutter is a narrow channel forming part of the roof system, which attaches to the fascia, collecting and diverting water from the roof via a downspout, from the roof edge to the base of the building where is discharged or collected. The main purpose of guttering is to protect the buildings surface and foundations by channelling water away from its base.
